First Time in Bali? 7 Things I Tell Every Guest
After ten years I've learned what first-time visitors wish they had known on day one. Here it is.
1. Distances are slow
Bali looks small on a map, but traffic is real. A 30-minute hop can take an hour — we plan the day around that.
2. Bring cash for small places
Warungs and markets love cash. Cards work at bigger spots.
3. Dress for temples
A sarong and covered shoulders. I keep spares in the car.
4. Drink only bottled or filtered water
5. Agree taxi prices first — or just ride with me
6. The dry season (Apr–Oct) is easiest
7. A little Bahasa goes a long way
Say terima kasih (thank you) and watch everyone smile.
The real secret? Don't over-pack the schedule. Bali rewards slowing down.
Message me before you arrive and I'll send a simple day-by-day plan.
