Overview
Amed is a string of quiet fishing villages along a black-sand coast, with coral reefs close enough to reach from the beach. We snorkel the calm bays and the small Japanese shipwreck, then visit the traditional salt farms where families still make sea salt by hand, exactly as their grandparents did. Far fewer visitors come out this way.
